The Heartwood Path leads to knowledge, willfulness, arrival in bliss, interdependence, effectiveness, peace, health, and partnership.
It is an occupation for both volunteers and paid staffers. The job is called by cultural historian Thomas Berry and others “The Great Work.”
Linking the job of increasing human happiness with the Ecological Reformation is the great work before us.
Quoting eco-theologian Sallie McFague: “The Ecological Reformation is the great work before us” (Moore and Nelson, 2010, p. 249). This is why the eco-centric life coaches associated with the Heartwood Path are called “Great Work! associates.” A considerable part of their job is to help clients become free of guilt and shame.
To make the best use of your inner world, commune with nature and use the clarity and calmness imparted by your awareness of a chosen natural being to help you assess the nature of your guilt, shame, fear of failure, fear of intimacy, and other inner life parameters.
