Axioms That Help To Summarize This Article:

Face failure, your fears and regrets.

It is better to have acted and failed than never to have acted at all.

Each result judged to be negative shows you one way not to do things.

Lester Levenson is reported to say: “Fear, and it will appear” (Dwoskin, 2009, p. 277). His disciple, Hale Dwoskin elaborates: “By placing a continual emphasis on avoiding what we fear, we call it to mind over and over again, like a perverse mantra, or a focal point for meditation, and it becomes a program limiting our happiness and freedom” (p. 277).

Concerning failures, to paraphrase Lord Tennyson: it’s better to have acted and failed than never to have acted at all. Failure is just a judgment given to action. There are no failures, only produced results. These results contain valuable lessons. Each result judged to be negative shows you one way not to do things. You are not a failure because of your produced results.

Concerning your regrets, avoid them. You will most likely not regret what you do as much as what you did not do. If you do find yourself in regret, leave this wasteland. All you can do there is wallow in frustration. Learn from whatever you produce. Do things that you do not know how to do, if only to learn. Avoid concerning yourself about what others think.

While it is important for you, generally in your life, to minimize judgments that are evaluations, one way to help yourself do so is to make a self-assessment and then work on being done with the habit of constantly evaluating. The next activity will provide this outlet.
