For those traversing the Heartwood Path, indulgence in earthly pleasures is not considered suspect, transient, impure, or worthless. In Proverbs 13: 12 it says: “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”

Indulgence along the Heartwood Path ought to always be life-affirming, positive, and ethical. Rather than suppressing desires, the Heartwood Path encourages you to move into your desires with full consciousness.

The Soul craves what it is denied.

By embracing and then overcoming (transcending) your desires, you can, if you wish, overcome them.
