A journey down the Heartwood Path will inevitably cause self-reflection and some short-lived emotional pain. Give yourself permission to examine what is painful to you.

Prepare yourself for some emotional unpleasantness.

Know that this examination is an integral part of the pathway that leads to ecstasy. Those who loiter in comfort often end up uncomfortable while those who loiter in discomfort often end up comfortable.

Giving yourself permission to examine what is painful to you is an integral part of the pathway that leads to ecstasy.

The Heartwood Path will show you how to rapidly convert debilitating tribulations into strengthening solutions. You won’t be stuck long in any bog of unpleasantness.

Often such unpleasantness arises when parents, activists, and so-called “nice people” too often put the needs of others before the needs of themselves.

When discontent happens consistently over a long period of time, one tends to become unpleasantly resentful and “burned-out.”

To fight burnout and resentment, commune with nature and qualitatively assess the rift between where you are and where you would like to be regarding putting the needs of others ahead of your own (do not use numbers).
