Key Assertions That Help To Summarize This Article:
Achieve vibrational alignment.
Sounds can be soothing and relaxing, cleansing and releasing, or regenerative.
Music is a wonderful form of meditation because it keeps both the performer and the listener fully alert to the moment.
Sounds can be soothing and relaxing, cleansing and releasing, or regenerative. Humming is soothing and relaxing. Moans and groans are cleansing and releasing. Regenerative sounds vary. They are low and full-bodied when they are about sexual matter or survival. They are in the mid range when they are for self worth and love. When they are high and ethereal they open us up to spirituality.
Using sounds to release emotions can be scary for some people. The not-so-uncommon concern is that released emotions may encourage one to become violent or crazy. Have no fear. You will not become ill, mentally or physically, by expressing your emotions. Suppressing your feelings is another matter. It is good to get your feelings out in the open. If you are self-conscious about making sounds, then start by humming quietly, growing into more forceful sounds as you see that nothing bad happens. Give yourself permission to lose some control, as much as you are comfortable releasing at any moment. In time, you will be able to use your voice to rejoice. You will feel better.
We will be using the voice to produce a vibrational alignment. When I encourage you to go to a natural being when doing most of the activities, you may want to use this time to make personal adjustments.
You may remember our previous description of chakras. As a reminder, they are invisible vortexes of spinning energy that act as transformers of energy as it moves from body, to mind, to emotions, and to Spirit. Basically, chakras allow your biography to affect your biology. They are like an extension of the mind in that they are non-physical and give direction to the body and self.
Vibrational alignment is the use of vibrational tools such as sound and color to produce health and perfection. Through the use of their innate being, natural beings, from flowers to crystals, “share their energetic resonance with us, and by being in their presence, we remember our own perfection” (Gardner-Gordon, 1993, p. 118). Gardner and Gordon’s eloquent and vital point is illustrated in the following activity.

Breathing In The Healing Vibes Of Natural Beings
For this waypoint, prepare to make a tone and associate a color with each chakra. The exact tone is not crucial. If you can, however, start with middle C for the First Chakra, D for the Second, E for the Third, F for the Fourth, G for the Fifth A for the Sixth, and B for the Seventh. You can do vibrational alignment on all of your chakras, as a general boost, or focus on ones that seem to need alignment, as described below. If you cannot readily reproduce these musical notes with your voice easily, simply start your voice low with the First Chakra and raise your tone roughly up one note with each chakra--A low note for the lowest chakras and higher notes for each higher chakra. If you feel that your First Chakra, the one that helps you manifest what you desire in the physical world, is on the wane, find a red natural being, breathe in repeatedly and, as you do, imagine that you are breathing the red color directly into your groin, and tone an EE sound. If you feel the need to boost the Second Chakra near your belly button, which affects your sexuality, sociability, and friendliness, tone the sound O, find an orange natural being, breathe in repeatedly and, as you do, imagine that you are breathing the orange color directly into your belly-button region, When your power wanes your Third Chakra may need the influence of a yellow natural being and the tone AOM. Be sure to breathe in repeatedly and imagine that the yellow color is absorbed at the base of your sternum. When you need a boost in your compassion and unconditional love--the main jobs of the Fourth Chakra at your heart center, say “Ah”, breathe in repeatedly, imagining that the pink or green color of a natural being is being absorbed directly into your heart (which is most receptive to pink or green). The Fifth Chakra may need the presence of a blue natural being and feel the vibrations associated with a UU tone if you are feeling difficulties with communication or opening to the spiritual realm. As you observe the blue colored natural being, breathe in and imagine that the blue vibrations are absorbed directly by your Throat Chakra. Breathe in the color repeatedly, imagine the color purplish blue directly entering your Third Eye Area, and say “MM” in the presence of matching colored natural being when you want to become more telepathic, more intuitive, less superstitious, less fearful, and balanced in your open-mindedness or skepticism. Your Seventh Chakra, on top of your head, helps you feel connected to the world and Spirit. If it needs a boost, breathe in the violet color or violet-colored natural being repeatedly, imagine that this color is being absorbed the the top of your head, and say “EE” (Gardner-Gordon, 1993, p. 115-117). Write down how, if at all, better breathing by you can be good for yourself and other beings.
